Are your working on exposing Rovo Agents in Slack?

We discovered Rovo now that Atlassian has released it to all Jira and Conflunce cloud plans. This feature is indeed incredible and the native integration with Jira and Confluence makes developing agent based on enterprise knowledge incredibly easy.

The thing that I feel would boost adoption would be to expose those agents inside Slack since conversations happens moslty in IM tools such as Slack and Teams.

I can imagine building agents that answer HR related questions or that act on Jira issue while never leaving Slack.

Hey @Simon Chalifoux

If I'm understanding what you mean by 'expose' correctly to be beyond the current functionality we have with the JSM virtual agent and slack - I think its a request I've seen before.

Visit the System Dashboard you can search to see if the suggestion was already made or go straight to "Suggestion" to request features. Here's a link to the overall board Jira Board.

Oh I didn't know that this was already supported when used in conjonction with JSM. I'll take a look out of curiosity, but we are not currently using JSM and I can see a few use cases that is not very related to JSM,

An exemple is a specialize translation agent that taps into an internal glossary hosted in Confluence. It would be nice to discuss with that agent inside of Slack.

Thanks, @Simon Chalifoux!

What you're envisioning is feasible but not yet natively supported by Rovo. Currently, Rovo agents can’t operate directly inside Slack or Teams unless tied to Jira Service Management’s virtual agent, which limits use cases to customer support.

Your example—like a translation agent pulling from a Confluence-hosted glossary—is a strong use case for broader messaging integration. Thanks for raising this use case. If native support gets added, it will likely appear in the Rovo roadmap.

What you can do now:

  • Watch or upvote related suggestions on Atlassian’s public Jira board

  • Consider building a custom Slack integration using the Rovo API + Forge

Thanks for the ideas.

I've upvoted the original idea in the dashboard: [ROVO-134] Ability to chat with Rovo agents and Rovo directly in Slack - Create and track feature requests for Atlassian products.

I don't think it would be possible at this time to build this feature using Forge as there is no API available to invoke (chat  with) a Rovo Agent, only facilities to declare one.

See related request: [ECO-629] As an app developer, I want to trigger a Rovo Agent from a Forge function - Create and track feature requests for Atlassian products.

Anyhow, thanks again for answering!
